What fitness is ALL about

I am figuring this stuff out.  It's about gadgets and looking as ridiculous as possible.  YEP.  And if there is one thing I am all about - it's ridiculous!  Hubby thinks it's about other stuff - like getting healthy and losing weight but I know better.

Let's start with gadgets - not just gadgets.  Gadgets that work with my phone and most importantly - my social media.  Because I am a social media JUNKIE.  I used to have a plain cell phone for the longest time.  It made phone calls.  That's it.  You know where it was?  Me either because I HATE to talk on the phone so it was useless to me.  Then one day hubby finally got me a smart phone.  It checked my email, it had texting, FACEBOOK and internet access.  FINALLY a phone that was useful!

So what am I using?

Since I am terribly spoiled by my hubby I got a few things - like SHOES!  We both did.  Poor hubby - we are walking around and he is helping me pick out shoes and usually he knows what I like better than I do.  So he is picking up things that are my usual style like - gray with some purple subtle accents.  I was like NO not obnoxious enough.  He eventually gave up and went in search of his own and now we have THESE!

We also got a few outfits to add to the mix.  I have a special one for when my friend Catherine {Cardio Confessions} is here and we are working out together but I can't show you that.  {She might see this post!}  I also got this super cute one for before pics -

Y'all won't be seeing before pics unless I pull together some after pics that are STUNNING!

I also finally convinced him I need to keep track of calories burned and he got me the super awesome Polar FT7 - it arrived last night and I am itching to dig into the box and get it put into play!

The icing on the cake?????  NEW BIKES!  I have only owned 3 bikes in my life.  My first bike - like most kids - was a small one with training wheels.  I got it for Christmas.  But it was a boy's bike.  I hated it and could not figure out why on earth I got a boy's bike.  My brother also got a bike that year.  His was also a boy's bike - a red, white and blue Evil Kneival bike.  Mine was black and red.  I hated mine.  Hated it.  As an adult it finally made sense - there were two slightly older boys that lived next door.  Hand me downs I'm thinking.  Parents - don't give your kid a hand me down bike that's for the wrong sex!  My parents had plenty money back then so I don't know what gives?

I bought my next bike on my own with my own money in 1979 when I was 9 years old.

It was a super sweet pink Schwinn bike with banana seat like this one only mine had fringe on the handlebars, a basket on the front and a flag coming up from the back of the seat.  Yea those things cost extra but I didn't care and I saved up for it.  IT. WAS. AWESOME!  All $122 of it.  That was ALOT of money back then!

I did not get another bike until I was in my twenties and I got a $99 Walmart special so I could go riding with my boys.  I left it behind in the frenzy of moving from my apt into the new house we built and when I realized what I had done a week or so later I went back and it was gone!  It had been sitting under the stairs.

So now hubby and I both have brand new bikes!

Mine is a hybrid so I can ride on pavement and on trails.  He already has a super sweet street bike so his is just for trails.  We started off looking at places like Target but we couldn't find anything we liked, they were uncomfortable and in some cases not even put together correctly.  (Hubby redid the gear wiring on one right in the aisle - he just couldn't leave it...)  We finally went to the Bike Shop where we got Pezza's bike and found what we wanted.

We are set to do this!

All our new stuff came with us this weekend when we went camping - it was awesome!

Do you have a fave fitness gadget or type of gear?  What motivates you to keep going?

  2. BWAHAHAHA! I *LOVE* this post! "NO, not obnoxious enough!" is pretty much how I would describe everything we do. Boring people don't get remembered throughout time! Hehehe...

And excuse me Mr. Kev-O, funny, how there's always a second one for you! :P
